What Is a Social Entrepreneur?

A social entrepreneur is someone who founds an organization committed to large-scale social change as well as to long-term self-sustainability of the organization. Such an organization could be a non-profit or for-profit venture, or a hybrid enterprise that steps beyond the bounds of traditional structures. Although Rinconada evaluates potential investments primarily on the basis of the project's social benefit, we consider each applicant's prospects for business opportunity and/or self-sustainability as well.
